F9 double decker

Me: What is special about this plane? Joaquin: It flies fast and circles like a loop, that's it!

Me: Why is this plane a double decker? Joaquin: So that there are two pilots, one that drives the plane and the other one shoots the enemies :-)

The Ultimate Battleforce 5 Car

Back to Battleforce inspiration again on this one. When he showed this to me the first time I was thinking it looks like this machine is up for war! The two white blocks with the pointed tube in the middle are supposed to be guns; the wheels on top are engines. I noticed he added some platforms at the bottom (green in front and black behind), i am just guessing this is used to support something or maybe used like a stepping platform when someone comes down from the vehicle.

I thought this one was complex but intriguing. Looking forward to Joaquin's next creation!

F-416

I just love working with Joaquin's bursts of creativity! He was watching a video on You Tube about airplanes and put it in translation through his Lego.

No clue again how F-416 (he calls this F "four" "sixteen") came about. When I asked him what is so special about this one, he claims that this is the fastest plane ever because of the many engines (4 wheels placed underneath the wings). Personally, i love the symmetry, i thought that he made this with great balance.

Good job, Joaquin, keep making planes :-)

Battle Force 10

The inspiration for this car is from the TV show Battle Force 5. Joaquin claims this the ultimate battle force vehicle. The wheel you see in the center is a propeller that gives this car some air lift. I'm not really sure if Joaquin meant for this to be a car or a plane but anyhow, just need to respect the kid of what he thinks :-)

The O-Tron 2000

Don't ask me about the name, quite frankly, I don't know how Joaquin came about with "O-Tron 2000". But here's how it works (a) this car (or truck?) can climb any terrain (b) it has solar panels on top so it is self sufficient in its energy needs (c) Joaquin says there is a bed inside which is comfortable enough for the driver & passengers to take turns and (d) weather proof and bullet proof.

So I asked Joaquin, when do you use this kind of car (or truck?) and he replied back, only when there's an emergency like when aliens come to Earth and attack people :-)

Welcome!

I have long thought about capturing all the creative moments of my son, EJ (but now, Joaquin and I'll come to that in another post...). He amazes me with any thing he could mix and match, combine up or down, thick or thin, and it just goes on and on... I remember when he was still 18months old, he is already skilled at stacking blocks in a very precise way -- his fine motor skills developed early and along with this is his restlessness to build Lego creations.

This blog is my attempt to capture moments of ingenuity of my growing boy hoping that someday the little things that spark a creative start would grow to become a big idea in reality.
